Please join the Visual Arts Department in congratulating 

Chloe Castaneda

and 
Phillipe Thao

for having their artwork accepted into the

2012 Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition!


Their work was chosen from over 1,350 submissions from high school students in our region.  The jury was made up of 14 art professionals from 9 different states, who considered the work based on originality, technical skills, and the emergence of a personal voice.  

Chloe received a Silver Key Award for her Sculpture entitled “Cthulhu’s Revenge” (shown here with the artist):

Phillipe received a Gold Key award for his Drawing entitled “Bougainvillea” (pictured below).  His piece will go on to be considered at the national level.

Their work will be included in an exhibit at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.  The exhibit will be open to the public daily from January 30 until February 26.  On the afternoon of February 26, they will be honored at an awards ceremony.

Congratulations again to these two artists for their outstanding success in this awards program!
