Sofie Netteberg, 8th grade bassoon player, has been selected for membership in the Minnesota Band Directors Association (MBDA) 6-8 Grade All State Honor Band for the 2012-2013 school year. Sofie was one of 81 students selected from 279 who auditioned this winter for a position in this group.
The students participating will have the opportunity to work with some of the finest music educators in the state as their section coaches, and will be conducted by Mr. David Mendenhall, Retired Music Educator. The students will rehearse with Mr. Mendenhall on Saturday, April 21 at Fergus Falls Senior High School, and will then perform a concert at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 22, in the auditorium of Fergus Falls Senior High School.
The Honor Band program is an on-going project of MBDA, a professional organization of band directors representing band programs of all grade levels from throughout the state of Minnesota.
