The FIRST Robotics Competition 2013 season is right around the corner, and the MPArors are getting ready for another six weeks of building robots. Team advisor Mrs. Koen is seeking mentors to work with MPA’s robotics team as they tackle their second year in the FIRST Competition. Last year, MPA’s enthusiastic and hard-working team won the “Rookie Inspiration Award” at the regional competition.

If you or anyone you know may be interested, please invite them to Pre-Season Mentor Round Table Meeting scheduled for December 10th from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m at MPA in Room 15. This program is a success because of the guidance the team receives from mentors. This is a great way to make a difference in the lives of students. Share your expertise in engineering, design, programming, marketing, electronics, or other areas. The time commitment for mentors can range from one evening per week or more depending on your availability. The build season is January through February, and the competition will be March 28-30.

The meeting will serve as an opportunity to meet the team members, review the mission of FIRST, discuss mentor roles and responsibilities, tour the facilities,  and look at the robotics timeline for the season.

Please RSVP to Nicole Koen for the December 10th meeting. A light dinner and refreshments will be served. If you are bringing a guest (or two), include him/her in your RSVP. The meeting will take place at MPA in Room 15.
