Celebrating 30 years of singing, the MPA Alumni Choir Reunion was held on Saturday, November 24. The Alumni Choir consisted of more than 50 alumni, faculty, and friends reuniting in song. It was a spirited day that began with a reception, choir rehearsal, dinner, and an evening concert. Performances included current MPA Chamber, Jazz, and Concert Choirs along with an MPA Women’s Quintet from the 90’s, and solo performances by alumni Jack Cotterell and Kelly Turpin (class of 2004). The Alumni Choir sang expressively on their set of music while the evening concluded with current MPA Choirs and the Alumni Choir singing together on “You are the New Day” and the gospel chorus, “The Storm is Passing Over”. Reflecting on the event, US Choir Director, John Habermann said, “Let’s not wait another thirty years to do this!”
