The first quarter of the academic year has passed by so quickly, and we have enjoyed many bright learning moments since September. What has been your favorite learning moment so far? As of this year, the Lower School has shifted to semesterly reports. Formerly, these reports were sent each trimester. Our move to semesterly reporting puts us in alignment with the Middle and Upper Schools. The semester 1 reports will be sent home in January.
Reminder that there are no classes on Friday, November 1. Please read on for more updates!
Tuesday, November 5: Lower School Election
On Tuesday, November 5, the Lower School students in PreK through fourth grade will cast their vote to create a new MPA monthly tradition. Each student will vote on having Spirit Wear Fridays or Express Yourself Fridays on a monthly basis, and we will share the results with the community. We are excited to collaborate with the children as they engage in this civic and democratic exercise!
PreK-12 MPA Preview: November 3, 2024, 12:30-2 PM
MPA Previews are signature PreK-12 events designed to introduce families to the faculty, students, and families who make MPA the exceptional learning community that it is. Visitors will hear from a variety of perspectives, be engaged in conversation with academic leaders, experience mini-lessons taught by expert teachers, and leave with a much better understanding of the MPA way. These events are for family members of all ages to attend together and will include division-specific time. Families can RSVP here!
CHAMP Update: Responsibility
On Wednesday, October 30, the Lower School students enjoyed learning more about responsibility, our CHAMP attribute focus. We also looked ahead to many upcoming events. We engaged in breathing exercises, met the cast of the Middle School play “Little Women: Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy,” met with Upper School teacher Ms. Murr to learn about voting that will occur next week, watched a mini-play of the book, Humbug Witch; got updates on the First Grade and Upper School Student Council Blood Drive, and celebrated our PhyEd TEAM Players of the Month. At our next CHAMP assembly, we will celebrate Native American Heritage Month. Stay tuned for more information!
