Created in 2017, the Luminare Fund honors the legacy of MPA retirees by fueling the interests and passions of their colleagues. It funds programs, opportunities, events, and services that directly benefit our exceptional faculty and staff and demonstrate the high regard and deep appreciation the MPA community has for them.

Luminare is Latin for window, an apt metaphor for the important role educators play in the lives of their students. Educators help students see the world in new ways, from different perspectives, and with newfound clarity. Faculty and staff look beyond themselves while providing opportunities for students to see themselves as part of the world and opportunities for students to grow, develop and deeply consider who they are. Educators are a window to what is possible for students' futures. In doing so, they have a profound impact on the lives of their students.
